One of Verkís' major strengths is its ability to provide a range of services for the construction of wide area networks.
The company has handled numerous projects involving wide area networks. These have mainly concerned fibre optic connections of various kinds, as well as both high and low-frequency wireless solutions.
The company also took part in the construction of the fibre optic distribution system that the public utility company Orkuveita Reykjavíkur initially developed as Lína.net and later under the name Gagnaveita Reykjavíkur. There was database construction to handle in-house connections, core network design, and detail design of connections.
