Verkís has done work on information systems for more than 50 years.
In information systems, connections are constantly being made between systems from different manufacturers, or data transferred between different software systems.
Verkís has worked on solutions for the technology sector: power plants, manufacturing, the health care sector and fisheries enterprises. Verkís has, for example, developed intermediate software for obtaining information from automatic measuring instruments and similar equipment and putting it into readable form. Verkís has developed communications software that enables the HS-Orka supervisory control system to communicate with SACO relay protection equipment in substations and designed and programmed gateways for the same system. Verkís has also programmed a large amount of electronic equipment for the general market and for specialised solutions, such as stability monitoring equipment and thermographs for ships, thermographs for vessels and fish freezing plants, wave measurement devices for the Icelandic Maritime Administration, profilometers for measuring road surface wear for the Icelandic Road Administration, etc.
