Verkís is a leader in the area of consultancy and design for eco-friendly energy production and has played an important part in development of such power generation in Iceland.
The company has participated in the design of most hydropower plants built in Iceland since the mid-20th century and is the chief designer of such plants in the country, both geothermal power stations and hydropower plants. Verkís has also taken part in designing power plants in other countries, including Greenland, El Salvador, Georgia, Norway, Turkey, etc.
Verkís also works on other eco-friendly energy production, including wind power, tidal energy, and the exploitation of waste heat in binary-cycle power plants.
