Verkís services was participation in the project as leading partner in HRV Engineering, teaming up with Bechtel Corp. as Bechtel-HRV, feasibility study, engineering in various fields, cost estimation, execution planning, preparation of bid documentation and review of bids, site execution management, site supervision and quality control.

Verkís has been involved in the planning of the Kárahnjúkar hydroelectric scheme since 1978. A feasibility report was issued in 1999 and a project planning report in 2000. Verkís provided complete engineering services including project planning, feasibility studies, tender documents, economic study, technical study, civil work design, mechanical design, electrical systems design, design review, environmental impact assessment and supervision.

Verkís services was project management, design management, preliminary examination, primary and final design, implementation, tender documents, reviewing offers, construction supervision, piping system, heating, water and sanitation systems, snow melting system, fire technical design and ventilation.
